| Mount Penny, 3900 acres |
With drought conditions in the Far North of South Australia at their worst in over 100 years, a further 3900 acres was acquired to absorb remaining cattle during the destocking period to ensure Allandale was not over grazed to the detriment of drought breaking rains. Mount Penny is prime grazing with attractive flats to undulating sandy loam over clay and limestone. Like Babbiloora, pasture consists of clovers, phalaris, lucerne and veldt grasses. Mount Penny has been neglected over the years and like Babbiloora it is undergoing a massive transformation to ensure it's productivity is at a maximum. It is a beautiful property that offers warmth and protection for livestock making it ideally suited for the large numbers of cattle that we process on an annual basis.
Mount Penny is also home to a small band of Australian Stock Horses mares which are used on a daily basis throughout the Neales River Livestock properties. It is also home to the dual registered Australian Stock Horse & Australian Quarter Horse stallions, Destinys Oak and Oaks Romeo.
